How to Make Bakery Like Bownies at Home

Do always sit at a cafe or bakery and check the menu to find what kind of Brownies do they offer? Well, what if I told you making brownies just as yummy is home is easier than you would have thought. Yup, you longer have to spend the big bucks to enjoy your favorite.

The best brownies are ones that have a gooey center. They are rich and when heated and topped with some ice cream, it is probably just what heaven seems like.

So here are a few tips on how to make such lip-smacking brownies.

1. The ingredients are the key

If there is one rule that applies to Baking, in general, it is that your baking ingredients should be as fresh as possible. From eggs, butter to the chocolate, make sure you buy the latest ingredients.

That is because the fresher the ingredients the greater will be their aroma, texture, and taste. If you are not sure about kind chocolate to use for baking, you can get all the info needed on my post about where to find chocolate in India.

Similarly, you also need to check your eggs. Below is a video on a simple test you can do to find the freshest one in a crate.

2. Beat the eggs well

How well you beat the eggs is one of the deciding factors when it comes to the texture of the brownie and since it just sugar and white eggs, there is little room for error.

If you beat it well enough, the brownie will be soft and fudgy rather than dense. as there will be quite a bit of air in it. But how does one know if this mixture is beaten enough?

Well, the mixture should form soft peaks. I would recommend using a stand mixer with a whisk attachment for the same but if you do not have one, a hand mixer should be good enough.

Just ensure you have the wire-whisk attachment and also move the mixer throughout the mixture so nothing gets left out.

3. Be careful with the baking

After all the mixing and sifting, the last thing you want is your brownie to come out overbaked or underbaked, right? Well, to ensure it isn’t underbaked, the first and foremost thing to do is to keep the oven door closed.

Only check the brownies once halfway through the suggest time and once towards the end with a simple toothpick test. Run a toothpick or skewer through the brownie. If it has no batter stuck to it then it is time to get it out of the oven. Total baking time is usually around 35 minutes.

4. Let it cool

After you get it out of the oven, the brownies need to be cooled for at least 20 minutes or they are likely to crumble if your brownies have come out fudgy and soft. Even when you reheat it, ensure you do not go overboard.

With these tips, you should able to enjoy brownies at home. You can further experiment with the recipes and add your own flavors to it.  You can also make it healthier by replacing sugar, flour or even eggs with substitutes such as Greek Yogurt, hung curd and so on.
