Every human being sees beauty differently and every person has different choices where it comes to what they like and what they don’t like. Structured or Textured walls can be an aesthetic preference for those who what to style their space distinctively with a different sort of look and feel. In some cases, textured walls are also a practical choice when wear and tear on a Wall (whether small or significant) is used to cleverly cover textured materials. In any case, there are several options to choose from when thinking of designing a wall with color, texture or paper.
Procuring Plaster Texture
The basic usage of plaster is one of the largely tried and true methods of creating a textured wall surface. It is also one of the more burdensome methods. The exact amount of water used, the method of application and various additives used in the mix all come into the role when plastering on a surface.
The attention to detail and DIY with some experience could certainly do an elegant job, but the average person who wants to do up a room could find the multiple coats and demand of a uniform technique a bit exhausting and tiresome. The look of plaster, however, has a classic appeal that might be worth the extra-hard work, or the cost of a professional team at work.
Textures with a Spray-on
Earlier in the 20th century, construction materials joined the like’s breath-freshener when they were made handy in a spray form. Though a spray-on textured wall requires a special instrument it is easier and faster than normal application of plaster.
Primarily, a powdered texture agent is mixed in a bucket with water until it becomes the desired consistency. Then the content of the bucket is showered into the spray machine and when the machine is turned on, your work is done! Once the spraying is all done, there will be some work involved in making the texture just right; it isn’t nearly as intensive as plaster is, though.
Painting a Wall with Textures
This method required the least amount of money and is considered fairly economical. In some designs, the easiest method to achieve a textured wall is to use pre-dominantly textured paint. Though it is not able to mask the significant impairment, for a surface with a few dings or dents, textured paint can work just fine. It can be found already mixed, or you can also use an agent that can be mixed in with ordinary paint to give it slightly textured look.
Wall Styling Using Printed or Textured Wallpaper
There are a lot of people nowadays, who are looking out for something fancier – not just some textured painted look. They are the ones, who have brought back wallpaper in fashion and the wallpaper business is on a high due to the need of such customer preferences. Textured wallpaper, like any other wallpaper, can hide any imperfections on the wall beneath it, so long as the wall is prepped correctly. The holes need to be filled with joint compound before the paper goes on, but after that, it’s relatively smooth sailing.
When we talk of textured wallpaper, we are talking of something that not only provides a pattern or pretty picture, but it undisputedly adds an element of wow to any existing wall as the designs have a feel in addition to a look. The textured paper comes in many various varieties, and its growing fashion and acceptance all but ensures that it will continue to come in even more. The method of sticking wallpaper on a wall is the same old traditional method, but it proves to be a little expensive as compared to the above-mentioned methods.
