SSC CHSL Syllabus for General Awareness

 

Following are the topics under General Awareness SSC 10+2 Level Exam Syllabus which need to be prepared to crack the exam: –

General awareness of the environment around us and its application to society.

Questions related to current events.

Matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect.

India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.

 

SSC 10+2 exam pattern

 

Exam pattern for every exam plays a very important role in preparing the examination. If you are preparing for  CHSL Exam, then you should be conscious about the SSC CHSL Pattern. The SSC 10+2 Exam Pattern or SSC LDC Exam Pattern will give you an idea about the approach of the exam.

SSC 10+2 Exam Pattern will also let you know about the marking technique of the paper. You will find yourself confident, while attempting the question in the exams. Here we are providing you the SSC 10+2 Exam Pattern to help you plan for managing the time while appearing in the exam.

 

SSC 10+2 Exam Pattern / SSC LDC Exam Pattern:

 

The SSC CHSL exam is conducted in the following phases:-

1. Written Test

2. Interview: Skill Test/Typing Test

 

SSC CHSL Paper Pattern (Written)

 Total time allowed is 2 hours. (2 hours 40 minutes for Visually Handicapped/ Cerebral Palsy candidates)

 The exam will consist of multiple choice questions only.

 The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-I, III & IV.

 There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

 

Interview: Skill Test for Data Entry Operators (DEO)

 

This test is only for those, who have applied for the post of Data Entry Operators (DEO). The details of the Skill Test are as follows: –

Candidates will be given printed passage in English containing 2000-2200 strokes/key-depressions, which they have to enter in the computer within 15 minutes.

They will be judged on the basis of how many correct entries of the key depressions they made.

This test is of qualifying nature only.

Candidates have to make only 8,000 Key Depressions per hour (2,000 correct key depressions 15 minutes).

 

Interview: Typing Test for Lower Division Clerk (LDC)

 

This test is only for those, who have applied for the post of Lower Division Clerk (LDC). The details of the Typing Test are as follows: –

Time allowed for the test is 10 minutes (30 min. for VH candidates)

Typing Speed for English medium in application form should be 35 words per minute.

Typing Speed for Hindi medium should be 30 words per minute.

 

Candidates, who qualify the Interview phase of Skill Test/Typing Test, will be appointed on the basis of their position in the merit list.
