Are you Eligible for IBPS SO 2018? Know Eligibility Criteria
The Eligibility criteria for various positions offered through the IBPS specialist officer exam is different It can be broadly divided into three aspects i.e. Nationality, Age limit and Educational qualification.
Candidates must ensure if they fulfill all the criteria to be eligible for the IBPS SO recruitment process as per the norms. Here we have discussed the IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria as follows:
IBPS SO Nationality:
To be eligible for the IBPS SO exam 2018 candidates must be either:A citizen of India Or A citizen of Nepal Or A subject of Bhutan Or A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India Or A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note- The candidates of above-mentioned categories (except the citizens of India) should have the valid certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
IBPS SO Age Limit
The candidates must be minimum 20 years of the age and maximum 30 years of the age as on the 1st November 2017.
It means that candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.11.1987 and not later than 01.11.1997 (both dates inclusive) to be eligible to apply for IBPS SO 2018 exam.

There are age relaxations of upper age limit for the reserved category candidates applicable as per the government norms as given below:SC/ST : 5 years OBC : 3 years PwD : 10 years Ex-servicemen : 5 years Persons domiciled in J&K state : 5 years (During 1-1-80 to 31-12-89 period) Persons affected by 1984 riots : 5 years
IBPS Specialist Officer Educational Qualification
Candidates willing to apply for the above-mentioned posts must have the graduate degree or post-graduate degree in the relevant field. The specialist officer educational qualification according to their positions is given below:
IBPS SO Qualification for IT Officer
The aspirants must have completed graduation or post-graduation in the IT related fields. For the IT officer candidate should have a qualification in one of the following field:
A) 4-year Engineering Degree inComputer Science Computer Applications Information Technology Electronics Electronics & Telecommunications Electronics & Communication Electronics & Instrumentation
B) Post-Graduate Degree inElectronics Electronics & Telecommunications Electronics & Communication Electronics & Instrumentation Computer Science Information Technology Computer Applications
C) Graduate having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level

IBPS SO Qualification for Law Officer
Candidate must possess a Bachelor Degree in law (LLB) and must be enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council of India for this post.
IBPS SO Qualification for Agriculture Field Officer
The candidates must have 4-year graduate degree in agriculture or related field to be eligible for the Agriculture Field Officer post. IBPS SO Qualification for HR/Personnel Officer
A graduation and full-time post-graduate degree/diploma in one of the following fields is required qualification for candidates to apply for HR officer in bank:Personnel Management Industrial Relations Human Resources/HRD Social Work Labor Law
IBPS SO Qualification for Marketing Officer
The candidates are eligible to apply for this post who have a graduate degree and one of the following streams of management:Full-time MMS (Marketing) MBA (Marketing) Full time 2 years PGDBA PGDBM PGPM PGDM degree with specialization in Marketing
Note: Candidates should have a certificate/ degree/ diploma in computer languages or should have studied computer as one of the subjects in high school/ college/ Institute for the posts other than the IT officer.
