JULY - 02
 In a major push to e-governance at grass root level for transparency, Government has decided to cover 339 of around 620 districts by next year March by a system under which government services can be accessed through instruments like mobile phones.
 With aim to protect information and build capabilities to prevent attacks, the government released the National Cyber Security Policy 2013 to safeguard both physical and business assets of the country.
JULY - 03
 Inter - Ministerial body Telecom commission on 2nd July gave to nod for raising for­eign direct investment limit in the sector from 74 percent to 100 percent subject to cabinet approval.
JULY - 04
 MGPSY: Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Suraksha Yojana a pension Scheme for blue - collar Indian workers, would be Launched in the Gulf next month.
 The 3rd edition of India International Leather Fair began on July 4th in New Delhi.
→ India Trade Promotion Organization Chairman Ritamenon and charge d’affaires of Italian embassy Giantuluca Grandi Jointly inaugurated the three day event.

JULY - 05
 President Pranab Mukherjee promulgated the National Food Security Ordinance, which aims to provide subsidized food grain to around 67% of India’s 1.2 bil­lion people.
→ The measure will guarantee 5 kg of rice, wheat and coarse cereals per month per person at a fixed price of Rs. 3, 2, 1 respectively.
→ Food security programmed will be the biggest in the world.
JULY - 06
 In Jharkhand, efforts of forming a new government are on after the congress agreed to support the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
JULY - 10
 On 10th July Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the ambitious “Anna Bhagya” scheme in Bengalore.
→ Under The scheme 30 kg of Rice per month will be given to BPL (Below Poverty Line) families across the state at Rs.1 per kg.
 Bhakra dam will become the first structure in India which will have two com­memorative postal stamps in its name.
 The Punjab government announced 1% reservation in adminis­trations for the single girl child in technical education institutions across the state.
JULY - 11
 The Union Cabinet on 11th July approved setting up of two national level universites in Uttarpradesh.
→ Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University.
→ Indira Gandhi National University for Women in Rai Bareli district.
JULY - 13
 Food Security Scheme to be launched on August 20th (birth anniversary of former PM Rajiv Gandhi).
JULY - 14, 15

JULY - 16
 Supreme Court has summoned Chief Secretaries of four states UP, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra for failing to take steps on police reforms.
 The Central Government has submitted its guidelines to regulate the sale and purchase of acid to the Supreme Court.
 According to the guidelines, no one will be able to purchase acid without submitting a Photo ID. Shopkeepers who sell acid will have to obtain a licence to do the same.
 India Air Force (IAF) has dropped the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as its Ambassador.
Sachin Tendulkar has been replaced with the basic trainer Air Craft Pilatus.
JULY - 17
 The Supreme Court of India on 17th July 2013 refused to reduce the age of juveniles from 18 to 16 years and dismissed a plea that minors involved in heinous crimes should not be protected under the law.

 The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav launched a state - wide campaign to improve family health HAUSLA (Meaning "spirit" or "determina­tion") across 75 districts of the state.
JULY - 18
 Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, launched the Nation - wide National Tobacco Control Campaign known as Tears You Apart.
JULY - 21
 In major upgrade of power given to Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the government has allowed it to pass orders like search and seizers, attachment of properties, arrest and detention of defaulters and pass disgorge­ment directions to recover the wrongful gains made in contravention charges.
JULY - 22
 The Delhi High Court introduced online payment of court fee, the first such facility which will save litigants from standing in long queues at the counter. 
 US Vice President Jeo Biden has arrived New Delhi Biden accompanied by his wife Jill. He was received at the airport by Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai and Indian envoy to the US Nirupama Rao.
