Things to Consider When Choosing a Multi-Channel Data Logger

You have decided you need a data logger.  In fact, you may need several data Loggers for your temperature validation or mapping, or for your in-circuit electronic testing.  The price tag for 4, 8, 12, or 16 data loggers is intimidating.  MadgeTech has the ideal solution for you.  Our X-Series line of multichannel loggers.

The X Series of data loggers offer 4, 8, 12, or 16 channels of readings to be gathered simultaneously.  In addition, these loggers can be connected to MadgeTech’s powerful MT4 Data Logging software and the mapping, validation or in-circuit testing can be monitored in real-time.  Imagine, not having to wait for a cycle or event to be completed to see if everything is working as it should.  If there is a problem, the testing can be stopped, the problem fixed, and the test restarted.  Imagine the savings in man-hours alone.

The RTDTempX and TCTempX offer you up to 16 channels of temperature monitoring and recording.  The RTDTempX uses 2, 3, or 4 wire PT100 RTD probes (link to RTD probes page?).  RTDs will generally give you a higher accuracy and better stability.   The TCTempX is used with J, K, T, E, R, S, B, and N type thermocouples (link to TC page?).  Thermocouples have the advantage of being able to be used over a wider temperature range, faster response time, availability, and are generally less expensive.

The CurrentX and Voltx Loggers offer you up to 16 channels for in-circuit DC current and voltage monitoring.   The CurrentX loggers are available in 3 ranges: 30mA, 160mA, and 3A for low-level DC current monitoring.  The VoltX loggers also are available in 3 ranges:  160mV, 3.2V, and 32V.  Imagine being able to record 16 separate nodes in a circuit simultaneously – instead of probing 16 points with a traditional multi-meter.  These loggers truly are a bench technician’s best friend.

For the ultimate in flexibility and versatility, there is the Titan-S8.  This 8-channel device can monitor thermocouple and RTD temperature, current, voltage, pulse, and frequency all at the same time.  You program the individual channels for the parameter or parameters you want to measure.  The data can be monitored in real-time on the 5” touch screen or it can be saved and uploaded into MadgeTech’s software later for analysis.

Whatever your application, if you think you have a need for monitoring or recording multiple data points at the same time, contact us.  One of our technical salespeople will be happy to assist you with the right model of multi-channel data logger that will fit your application and your budget.
