The management of the University of Ibadan (UI) on Thursday announced to the general public the sudden death of a 400L Nursing student of the institution, Victor Ajidagba.
According to findings by schoolworld, Ajidagba became unconscious while receiving lecture on Wednesday evening and was immediately rushed to Jaja clinic of the school by his mates and security personnel on campus.
At the clinic, the doctor on duty referred him to the University College Hospital (UCH) while the university’s ambulance conveyed him to the Teaching Hospital. He, however, died while he was being attended to.
Confirming the incident to pressmen, the institution’s Director of Communicationnn, Olatunji Oladejo Stated that the school learnt that Ajidagba slumped around the Physiology department and was rushed to Jaja clinin by those around at him.
“We were told his case became so critical that the doctor on duty had to refer him to UCH for better medical attention.
“UI did everything to save his life and we used the university’s ambulance to ferry him to UCH. The doctors and nurses there also battled to save him but unfortunately, we lost him,” Oladejo stated.
He revealed that an autopsy would be carried out on the deceased to ascertain the real cause of his death.
