Using Siminars with Your Book Club

eLearning doesn’t need to be limited to only classrooms and seminars. eLearning platforms can be used for any situation where you want to provide some structure to learning and knowledge acquisition. If you enjoy running a highly structured Book club or are organizing one, then you may want to use an eLearning platform like Siminars to help organize the way your group reads the next book.
Siminars allows you to set out a structured way for the members of your book club to approach content. This can be as involved or as casual, as you like. Open Siminars are free to create and access. Items can be either required or optional. Which you choose will depend on how formally you want to structure the book club. A good place to start is with the reading and one or two discussion questions. You may also want to link to related audio or video.

Promote Discussion

The Siminar can be used to promote discussion outside of the book club meetings. It can also help guide the direction of the discussion during meetings. Ideas that prove particularly interesting can be explored by the group at their leisure.

You can use some of the Siminar options in unique ways when you combine it with a club that meets in real life. Use polls to query preferred snacks. Discussion questions can help you decide on meeting locations and times. If you are going to use the Siminar this way, you probably want to set most of your to-do list items to optional. That way, people can participate even if they don’t have the time to finish every part of the Siminar.
