1. India test fires Prithvi-II missile off Odisha

Major Highlights:

  • India test fired surface-to-surface ballistic missile Prithvi-II
  • This missile is already inducted in the armed force which is capable of wearing 500-kg warhead to strike target 350km away and is powered by liquid propulsion.
  • The ballistic missile is the first missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under Integrated Guided Missile Development Program.
2. India and Japan collaborate in areas of robotics and many others

Major Highlights:

  • In the event of “India and Japan: Towards A Higher Stage” both the countries exchanged cooperation between cooperation air, sea and land and in the areas of unnamed ground vehicle and robotics.
  • The event was organized by Think Tank in Tokyo.
  • The Japanese ambassador in the event also promised for working on the Pm Modi’s “Act East Policy” and Shinzo Abe’s “Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy”.
3. Saudi Arabia Increases country’s Haj quota

Major Highlights:

  • In the inaugural ceremony of Saudi Arabia National ‘Al Janadriyah’ the country increased India’s quota for Haj after which a total 1.75 lakh pilgrimages can go.
  • Also in the even Indian was given the guest of honor status.
  • According to the raised quota 35000 more pilgrimages can go to Haj now.
4. Jhulan Goswami becomes the first women take 200 ODI wickets

Major Highlights:

  • Creating a landmark Jhulan Goswami of Indian cricket team became the 1st woman bowler to claim 200 wickets in One-Day Internationals.
  • In the list of top 5 other than Jhulan Goswami Neetu David is ranked 5th with 141wickets.
  • From the Men cricketers Kapil Dev was the first to pick 200 ODI wickets.
 5. RBI keeps the repo rate unchanged at 6%

Major Highlights:

  • On 7th February the RBI of India held the policy repo rate at 6% due to the estimated fourth quarter inflation and flagged concerns.
  • For the yield target the RBI pared its 2017-18 GVA growth to 6.6%, from December’s 6.7%.
  • The rates we confirmed by the RBI government Urjit Patel and deputy governor Viral Acharya.
