She is the director of FAMFA oil and former secretary of the international Merchant bank of Africa, one of the oldest bank established in early 70s. 80% of her income comes from her FAMFA oil, a company that is into exploration and production and is worth over $600 million dollars.
She studied fashion designing in the UK before returning to Nigeria to begin her own fashion designing business after dropping her bank job. We gathered that she has overtook Oprah Winfrey in 2014 as the richest black woman.

Hajia Bola Shagaya is the second richest woman in Nigeria after almighty Folorunsho Alakija and currently the 4th richest woman in Africa. She one of the most influential and wealthy business woman from Nigeria. Hajia Bola Shagaya is surely one of the richest people in Africa. She is also one of the few billionaire black women in the world according to Forbs Magazine. She was born in 1959 in Ilorin, Kwara. She started her career at audit department of the Central Bank of Nigeria. She is into photography and communication and her business started when she introduced photographic materials of the Konica brand to Nigeria.
That was how her journey to stardom kicked off. She is the director of Practical Limited – one of the largest oil companies in Nigeria. She is the proud owner of a Gulfstream G650 aircraft. A large part of her income comes from from oil sector. She is a board member at Unity Bank. She has landed properties both here in Nigeria, the United States, United Kingdoms and other major countries of the world.
3. Hajiya Dr. Mariya Dantata
On the third spot we have another powerful woman named Hajiya Dr. Mariya Dantata. She is said to be one of the most unpopular and secretive female billionaire in Nigeria . She appear less than she is really worth , i think she is doing the right thing because it is the only way to live long. It was noticed that Forbes ranking didn’t put her in the list of richest women in Africa, but she is worthy to be included in our 2017 ranking. We know that most successful women in Nigeria are into entrepreneur but Daisy Danjuma is considered to be the richest woman entrepreneur in Nigeria because her entrepreneurial skills is greater than that of the rest. This wealthy lady is the wife of one of the richest men in Nigeria – General Theophilus Danjuma. She own and run several companies across Nigeria and her husband super jet is worth over $40 million.
She started pilling up her bank account when she was elected as Senator of Nigeria back in 2003. She has also worked on various committees as Senate Committee Chairman on Women Affairs and Youth Development and Chairman of the ECOWAS Parliament`s Women and Children`s Rights Committee.
