january 26 is celebrated as our Republic Day

january 26 is Celebrated as our Republic Day. We celebrate this day every year. It was on this day in 1950 that Indian became the Sovereign Democratic Republic and had a constitution of its own. The Republic Day is celebrated all over the country with great pomp and show. In Delhi, it is celebrated amidst great enthusiasm and joy. In my school also the Republic day is celebrated with a lot of grandeur. The Girls and Boys Scouts first parade before the administration and the Chief Guest. We then sing the national anthem. All the four Houses in my school then compete in various activities like dance, singing and oration, all of which is centred around a patriotic theme. The Chief Guest is often a member of the armed forces who inspire us with their disciplined demeanour and precision.

A special parade is held on this day on the Rajpath Delhi. Early in the morning people begin to assemble at Raj Path and other places from Rajpath to Red Fort to watch the parade. The President of India takes the salute. A procession starts to form Vijay Chowk. All the three wings of armed forces take part in the parade. There is a display of various arms, tanks, big guns and other weapons of War. Military bands play different tunes. N.C.G cadets and the police also participate in the parade. They are “followed by tableaux form the different states. They depict a true picture.
