4. Click the Network and Internet link. The Network and Internet window is displayed.

You have to configure the host computers to use dynamic IP addresses instead of static IP addresses. Verify the result after implementing the changes on the host computers.

To resolve the exercise, you need to perform the following tasks:
Change from static to dynamic IPv4 address.
Find the physical address and hostname.


Task 1: Changing from Static to Dynamic IPv4 Address To change from static to dynamic IPv4 address, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Ensure that the Start screen is displayed.
2. Type Control Panel.
3. Press the Enter key. The Control Panel window is displayed.
4. Click the Network and Internet link. The Network and Internet window is displayed.
5. Click the Network and Sharing Center link in the right pane. The Network and Sharing Center window is displayed.
6. Click the Change adapter settings link in the left pane. The Network Connections window is displayed.
7. Right-click the Local Area Connection icon, and then select the Status option from the pop-up menu.
8. Click the Properties button.
9. Double-click the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option under the This connection uses the following items list. The Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties dialog box is displayed.
10. Select the Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically options.
11. Click the OK button. The Local Area Connection Properties dialog box is displayed.
12. Click the OK button. The Local Area Connection Status dialog box is displayed.
13. Click the Details button. The Network Connections Details dialog box is displayed.
14. Verify the IPv4 Address, and then click the Close button. The Local Area Connection Status dialog box is displayed.
15. Click the Close button.
16. Close all the open windows.

Task 2: Finding the Physical Address and Hostname To find the physical address and hostname, you need to
1. Ensure that the Start screen is displayed.

You need to perform the following tasks on the new network: Install and configure a domain controller. Install and configure a DNS server. Add all the workstations to the domain network. How will you perform the preceding tasks? Experiment To set up a domain controller, you need to perform the following tasks: Configure the static IP address on the server. Install Active Directory Domain Services. Configure Active Directory Domain Services. Configure the IP address and domain controller. Verify the Active Directory domain controller and clients.

To assign the IP address information using the DHCP server, you need to perform the following
tasks:
Configure the static IP address on the server.
Configure the DHCP server.
Configure clients to get the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses from the DHCP server.


Task 1: Configuring the Static P address on the Server To configure the static IP address on the server, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Switch to the Image_DC1 virtual machine.
2. Press the Windows key.
3. Click the Control Panel tile. The Control Panel window is displayed.
4. Click the Network and Internet link. The Network and Internet window is displayed.
5. Click the Network and Sharing Center link in the right pane. The Network and Sharing Center window is displayed.
6. Click the Change adapter settings link in the left pane. The Network Connections window is displayed.
7. Right-click the Local Area Connection icon, and then select the Properties option from the pop-up menu. The Local Area Connection Properties dialog box is displayed.
8. Double-click the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option under the This connection uses the following items list. The Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties dialog box is displayed.
9. Ensure that the following information is entered:
• IP address: 172.16.0.10
• Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0
• Default gateway: 172.16.0.10
• Preferred DNS server: 172.16.0.10
10. Click the OK button. The Local Area Connection Properties dialog box is displayed.
11. Click the OK button.
12. Close the Network Connections and Network and Sharing Center windows.

Task 2: Configuring the DHCP Server To configure the DHCP server, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Ensure that the Image_DC1 virtual machine is open and active.
2. Ensure that the Server Manager window is open and active.
3. Click the Add roles and features link in the right pane. After a few moments, the Before you begin page of Add Roles and Features Wizard is displayed.
4. Click the Next button. The Select installation type page is displayed.
5. Ensure that the Role-based or feature-based installation option is selected.
6. Click the Next button. The Select destination server page is displayed.
7. Click the Next button. The Select server roles page is displayed.
8. Select the DHCP Server check box in the Roles list. The Add Roles and Features Wizard dialog box is displayed.
9. Click the Add Features button. The Select sever roles page is displayed.
10. Click the Next button. The Select features page is displayed.
11. Click the Next button. The DHCP Server page is displayed.
12. Click the Next button. The Confirm installation selections page is displayed.
13. Click the Install button. The Installation progress page is displayed. After a few minutes, the Configuration required message is displayed in the right pane.
14. Click the Complete DHCP configuration link. The Description page of DHCP Post-Install configuration wizard is displayed.
15. Click the Next button. The Authorization page is displayed.
16. Click the Commit button. The Summary page is displayed.
17. Click the Close button. The Installation progress page is displayed.
18. Click the Close button. The Server Manager window is displayed.
19. Select DHCP in the left pane. The DHCP page is displayed.
20. Right-click the IMAGE_DC1 server under the Server Name column of the SERVERS pane.
21. Select the DHCP Manager option. The DHCP window is displayed.
22. Maximize the DHCP window.
23. Expand the Image_DC1.Adatum.com->IPv4 nodes.
24. Right-click the IPv4 node, and then select the New Scope option. The Welcome to the New Scope Wizard page of New Scope Wizard is displayed.
25. Click the Next button. The Scope Name page is displayed.
26. Type A Datum Scope in the Name text box.
27. Click the Next button. The IP Address Range page is displayed.
28. Type 172.16.16.1 in the Start IP address text box.
29. Type 172.16.16.255 in the End IP address text box.
30. Click the Next button. The Add Exclusions and Delay page is displayed.
31. Click the Next button. The Lease Duration page is displayed.
32. Click the Next button. The Configure DHCP Options page is displayed.
33. Select the No, I will configure these options later option.
34. Click the Next button. The Completing the New Scope Wizard page is displayed.
35. Click the Finish button.
36. Select the Scope folder in the left pane.
37. Right-click the Scope folder in the left pane, and then select the Activate option. \
38. Select the Server Options folder in the left pane.
39. Right-click the Server Options folder in the left pane, and then select the Configure Options option. The Server Options dialog box is displayed.
40. Select the 006 DNS Servers check box under the Available Options column.
41. Type 172.16.0.10 in the IP address text box.
42. Click the Add button. The DNS validation message box is displayed for few moments. After this, the address is added to the list box below the IP address text box.
43. Scroll down and select the 015 DNS Domain Name check box under the Available Options column.
44. Type Adatam.com in the String value text box.
45. Click the OK button.
46. Close the DHCP window
47. Close the Server Manager window.
48. Press the Wmdows+I keys. The Settings pane is displayed.
49. Select Power-aestart.
50. Click the Continue button. After a few moments, the Press Ctri + Mt + Del to sign in screen is displayed.
51. Press the Ctri+Alt+End keys.
52. Type PaSSwOrd in the Password text box.
53. Press the Enter key. After a few moments, the Server Manager window is displayed.

Task 3: Configuring Clients to get the IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses from the DHCP Server To configure clients to get the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses from the DHCP serer, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Switch to the Image_Win8_CL3 virtual machine.
2. Ensure that the Start screen is displayed
3. Type Control Panel.
4. Press the Enter key. The Control Panel window is displayed.
5. Click the Network and Internet link. The Network and Internet window is displayed.
6. Click the Network and Sharing Center link in the right pane. The Network and Sharing Center window is displayed.
7. Click the Change adapter settings link in the left pane. The Network Connections window is displayed.
8. Right-click the Local Area Connection icon, and then select the Properties option from the pop-up menu. The Local Area Connection Properties dialog box is displayed.

Task 5: Verifying the Active Directory Domain Controller and Clients To verify the Active Directory domain controller and clients, you need to perform the following steps:
1. Log on to the Image Win8_CL3 virtual machine by using the following credentials:
• User name: ADATUM\Administrator
• Password: Pa$SwOrd
2. Ensure that the Start screen is displayed.
3. Type Computer.
4. Right-click the Computer tile, and then select the Properties option. The System window is displayed.
5. Click the Advanced system settings link in the left pane. The System Properties dialog box is displayed.
6. Click the Computer Name tab.
7. Click the OK button.
8. Close the System window.
9. Switch to the Image_DC1 virtual machine.
10. Press the Windows key.
11. Type Active Directory Users and Computers.
12. Press the Enter key. The Active Directory Users and Computers window is displayed.
13. Ensure that the Adatum.com node is expanded in the left pane.
