World’s Fastest Animal

World’s Fastest Animal

“The wing of the Falcon brings to the king, the wing if [of] the crow brings him to the cemetery.” …Muhammad Iqbal

Let me guess. You thought it was the Cheetah, right? No? The turtle underwater? Sharks? Ostrich?

Well watch the video, and read the facts.

FASTEST ANIMAL IN THE WORLD:

  • The Lion has a top speed of 50 mph.
  • The Springbok and Pronghorn have a speed of 55 mph, barely outrunning the lion.
  • The Ostrich, Swordfish and The Hummingbird top out at 60 mph.
  • The Sailfish sails at the speed of 68 mph.
  • The infamous Cheetah’s speed tops at 75 mph.
  • Albatross, Gyrfalcon and Black Marlin’s speed tops at 80 mph.
  • Spun-Winged Goose hits at 88 mph.
  • The Horsefly, which is actually the fastest insect in the world, hits it’s speed at 90 mph.
  • Pigeons wins the Horsefly at 92 mph.
  • And then Frigatebird wins over the Pigeons, speeding at 95 mph.
  • Then comes the Mexican Free-tailed bat, which has the reputation of the Fastest Mammal in the world, at 99 mph.
  • The Hobby and the Swift, fly at about 100 mph.
  • The Golden Eagle easily doubles that at 200 mph.
  • But then the Peregrine Falcon wins the contest, being the fastest alive, at the top speed of 242 mph, when in hunting mode.

CONGRATS, PEREGRINE FALCON.
YOU ARE THE WORLD’S FASTEST ANIMAL!

BONUS:

Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter, who’s an eight time Olympic gold medallist, runs at the speed of 28 mph.
So, a small reminder….DO…NOT…TRY TO OUTRUN A WILD ANIMAL.
Because if you’re Usain Bolt, you would have the chance of 56% survival against a Lion, if you tried to run….but you’re not Usain Bolt.
