The Avid Learner's Dilemma: Master New Material Or Review The Old?

Do you enjoy learning new things? Would you consider yourself a pretty diligent student? If so, then you can probably relate in at least some way to the Dilemma I'm about to describe. During undergrad, I was taking a very challenging Organic Chemistry Class. A major reason for the classes's difficulty was the fast pace; we covered about a chapter a lecture on average, which often left us with hundreds of new things to learn and master each week. The dilemma I faced is best categorized as a time-management dilemma: I needed to figure out the most time-efficient and effective way to manage the new information covered each week, while also retaining the older information I already learned. I had taken many other classes previously in which I also faced this dilemma and had overcome it, but none of them were as challenging for me as this class. Fortunately, I was able to modify my approach to successfully complete the organic chemistry class, and I'd like to share with you the process I used!

To be clear here, notice that I said what I want to share is the process, and by this I mean specifically the process I used to successfully mange the dilemma of how to best allocate study time between mastering new material and reviewing the old material. For the record: yes, the rumors are true. We do have some organic chemistry help products in the works right now! However, that's NOT what this post is about. What this post is about is providing you with a general method that you can utilize for virtually any subject to tackle the dilemma for good! Wouldn't it be great to have an easy, stress-free, and effective system for keeping up with older material while also managing new material?

We are working on an upcoming in-depth post to help you tackle this issue and end the frustration! To make sure that we do as good of a job as possible, we are asking you for your help! If you have any thoughts on both of or any of the 2 questions below, please share them with us! We really value your input!

Here are the questions we'd love to hear your answers to:

1. What is the most challenging aspect of balancing learning new material with reviewing old material for you?

2. Is there anything special that you would like to see us include?

You can leave your answers in the comment section, or send them directly to us using the form below! Adding your name and email address is 100% optional for participation, but please include both (we won't share them with anyone) if you would like us to follow up with you via email regarding your input!
