Coney Island is experiencing a renaissance these days. The boardwalk is alive with all kinds of fun and interesting things to do from the New York Aquarium, to good eats, and even a brewery. The revitalization of the area is also tied deeply with the rich history of Coney Island and the people who live and work here are as colorful as the freaks, geeks, and carnies of its past.
Coney Island Brewing Company is part of this revitalization and return to the roots of the area. The brewery and bar area are a little small, but they do have an outside patio and they have a few board and card games that you can play while there. A few of the beers have fun names like Trapp’ed on the Cyclone (Trappist-style Tripel), Kettle Corn Cream Ale and Cotton Candy Kolsch. The names definitely invoke the history of Coney Island.
Overall, this is a fun brewery in the place to have fun with an edge in Brooklyn. We look forward to bringing you reviews of the beers we tasted while living it up in Coney Island.Click to view slideshow.
