They say that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and one trip to Brewski will have even the non-breakfast-believer setting their alarm clock to make it into one of Brewski’s two Brunch spots.
How the visit to Brewski became a ‘must’
A meat lover’s safe haven and a coffee lover’s delight, you’d be forgiven for thinking that vegetarians are strictly prohibited given the imagery that is strewn across their website but don’t worry my veggie friends, Brewski has plenty on offer for you too (but more on that later).
Brewski appeared on my radar quite a while ago when Arian (my wife to be :D) sent me an unnamed link with the caption ‘we need to go’.
Whenever she sends a message like that I know good things are coming my way and this time was no different.
The first thing that greeted me when I paid their site a visit was a mound of bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, black pudding, steak, beans, poached eggs and pancakes. It was the Brewski Brunch Board from Lad Bible, Unilad and Pretty52 fame.
Other than Arian, I think this is the only other time in my life that I’ve experienced love at first sight. I had to have it.
Did Brewski live up to the hype?
With a Manchester United match to go to in the afternoon, now is the time to put my money where my mouth is and do battle with a Brewski breakfast and so I booked a table at Brewski in Chorlton (they also have one in the centre of Manchester, but driving around the city centre is no fun at all!).
When I first walked in I thought we must be in the wrong place, there was only a couple sat in the corner and the two members of staff. No one else. I didn’t understand how it could be so quiet. I needn’t have worried.Click to view slideshow.
When you first walk through the door you’re met by a giant wooden bear, which instantly gives the place an American feel which they are clearly going for given the items on the menu. It was a nice touch that I personally loved.
The interior is really well thought out, with booths and smaller tables and this time we opted for a booth.
As with anywhere I go for breakfast or brunch, the first thing I looked at was the coffee options and I’m pleased to report that they’ve got all bases covered and the brews themselves were delicious.
I sipped on a delicious latte whilst Arian enjoyed a flat white, both of which were delivered to us quickly and were hot enough that we could enjoy them throughout our breakfast. Something some other coffee shops should take note of.
If you’ve stuck with me this far, you’re probably wanting to know about the Brewski Brunch Board and how I managed to demolish it single-handedly. Sorry to disappoint folks, but I settled for the Brewski Breakfast in the end.
My partner in crime opted for the veggie breakfast, which was a delicious mix of potato and cheese hash, avocado, beans, mushrooms, scrambled eggs and tomatoes.
This left me alone to take on the biggest brunch board I’d ever seen, and I just couldn’t face it on my own, so I opted for the Brewski Breakfast instead.Click to view slideshow.
Even though you might be disappointed, don’t be! The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in ages, with ample amounts of bacon, poached eggs, flat sausage (which any Scot would be proud of) as well as beans, mushrooms, cheesy potato hash and a beautifully soft tomato.
I’d recommend it to anyone for any time of the day.
We also shared a plate of the fluffiest pancakes you’re ever likely to see, smothered in maple syrup and a generous helping of crispy bacon.
All in all, we had a great time and it was the perfect way to start the day and any fears I had when I walked into an empty room, were misplaced.
We were there for little over an hour and by the time we left, there was barely a seat left in the house. Clearly, the Mancunians don’t do early mornings on a Saturday.
As soon as we got up to leave, another group who’d been waiting patiently dived into our booth.
You know you’ve found a top spot when there isn’t any room to sit down.
I’ll be back for you Brewski Brunch!
So, whilst the coffee was sublime, the food was to-die-for, and the staff are some of the friendliest and quickest I’ve ever come across in a breakfast hotspot, I still have unfinished business!
The Brewski Brunch Board is still on my mind and I can’t wait to get my posse together to take it down!
If you’re in the Manchester area I’d recommend a detour from wherever you’re visiting even if it’s just for a brew.
I’d love to find my next breakfast spot, so if you’ve got any suggestions, drop me a comment or Like the Facebook page by clicking here and drop me a DM with your suggestion.
Until next time!
