Surely the blended butter market is at saturation point, but even if this is the case, sweet treat giants Krispy Kreme is determined to ensure the market has one last hurrah!
Food and drink fads come and go, but it’s safe to say that two permanent crowd pleasers are Nutella and coffee.
They’re a staple in many people’s breakfasts rituals, and Krispy Kreme is looking to capitalise on that fact with their Caramel Macchiato Coffee Spread.
According to Tasting Table, the spread will be made with 100% Arabica coffee beans and hazelnuts.
Am I saying this new concoction is going to be the start of a coffee cross-over revolution? No.
But it does show a different side to Krispy Kreme that I didn’t expect to see.
I mean surely their first steps into the spread market should be a glazed donut flavour, isn’t that the logical step?
Anyway, they have gone with the coffee and caramel option, and I for one am intrigued.
Sadly, it won’t be available until the end of the year in the USA with no official release date for the UK.
