Weather in Reykjavik in August

It seems that everywhere is pretty warm in August. Even Scotland had a heatwave this week it seems. So we thought we’d take a look at some places to visit in order to get away from the ubiquitous heat of August. Our App picked up that Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, enjoys a cool 15˚during the month of August. I5˚is still relatively warm, but certainly not hot. You might get the odd rain shower, and the arctic wind may make itself known.

What to wear

August is probably the easiest of months in terms of how much you need to bring. The locals will still be wearing just jumpers and jeans, but if you feel the cold you’ll need something a bit warmer for the evening, as the temperature will drop considerably by then.

What to do

Surrounded by otherworldly landscapes with vibrant streets of colourful culture, the northernmost capital of the world is home to a range of cost effective options that promise to delight & amaze. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Reykjavík pro, make sure you enjoy some of these things during your visit to Reykjavík:
