This is Masjid Dimaukom, but most popularly known as the Pink Mosque, can be found in the town of Datu Saudi Ampatuan in Maguindanao.

The former mayor Samsudin Dimaukom funded the mosque’s construction on a lot donated by their family.

Pink is his wife’s favorite color. The pink also represents wholesomeness, friendship or peace.

Christian construction workers were hired in building this beautiful mosque. Usually, Muslims only allow fellow Muslims to work on building their mosques, but this one is unique. To fulfill the color’s symbol of “brotherhood” and “unity”.

The mosque was officially opened in June of 2014.

Unfortunately, Mayor Dimaukom died in a shootout with the police in 2016. The mayor was in Duterte’s drug watch list.
