An Easy Creamy Tomato And Basil Soup Recipe

A Creamy Tomato and Basil soup to remind you of your childhood, but paleo style. It’s a simple recipe and very tasty.

Total Prep Time: 5mins

Total Serves: 8


  • Tins tomatoes x 3
  • Onions x 3
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Chicken stock – 1 cup
  • Basil (fresh) – large bunch
  • Basil (dried) – 2 teaspoons
  • Oregano (dried) – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coconut oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Coconut cream – 3 tablespoons
  • Salt – large pinch
  • Pepper – to taste


  1. Roughly chop the onion and garlic together
  2. Heat the coconut oil in the pan
  3. Add the onions and garlic to the pan, add some salt and pepper and heat on high for a couple of mins
  4. Turn down the heat and let the onions saute for a moment or two more
  5. Add the chicken stock
  6. Add the tins of tomato and a further pinch of salt and stir
  7. Add the basil and oregano to the pot and turn the heat back up to medium/high
  8. Bring it all to the boil and let it boil for a couple of mins
  9. Turn the heat back down to medium and leave it for 90mins, stirring occasionally
  10. Add salt and pepper to taste
  11. Add coconut cream and let the mix simmer for a further 10mins
  12. Turn the heat off and leave it all to cool
  13. Once cooled, find your nearest blender and mix it all up
  14. Hey presto! Creamy tomato and basil soup for cold winter nights
