Our quick getaway for the last weekend of 2016 and first weekend after New Year is a Detox. It's like changing the oil of your engine. You remove the old one with a new oil to make the car engine function optimally.

HUGOM BEACH
There in an almost secluded stretch of the beaches of San Juan, the farthest north sphere of the famous Laiya beach is the quiet and unpretentious Hugom beach in San Juan. It's about some 20+ km distance from San Juan's poblacion and a relatively quick weekend destination of about 3-4hours drive from Manila. It's not new to us, having our roots on that town but it took a long while since my last visit to its charming beaches.
Hugom's clear water and scenic view are one of the natural charms of this town. If you come at the right season, the beach and view is almost exclusive to you. The sand is white but not too fine. It can be better enjoyed with proper swimming gear, so wear those swimming shoes.
Your sense of discovering the richness and beauty of nature will be sufficiently rewarded with some activities that are unbounded by mere enjoying the sea and the view. Snorkelling, Banana Boat Ride, Canoeing, Jet Skiing and Flyboarding are just some of the few activities in the water while Beach Volleyball has proven to be a great way to show your passion for the game or just to enjoy the sand.
Accommodations may vary depending on your preference. There are public cottages, with aircon or fan room only which ranges from Php 2000 to Php4000. These are not strict with number of pax but they have very basic amenities. Hotel accommodations varies and starts at Php 4000+. Prices go up during peak season.

CALUBCOB BAY BEACH RESORT
Rooms/villas are relatively affordable. There are condo types that are good for big families and which can also be ideal for longer stay if you are just visiting some relatives in town but your host cannot accommodate your big group. Villas near the beach are ideal for small group of 4-6 persons and will be ideal for short stay of a night or two.
There are also small houses/two-floor villas that has kitchen and where you can cook or make some grilling which accommodates around 8-12 persons.
Calubcub Bay Resort's highlight is its spacious ground for recreation, playground for kids and swimming pools to enjoy. Hence, a relax vibes. It has restaurant, too, where you can rent for celebrating some milestones or you just feel like throwing a party.
There's a hammock here and signal is weak, which translates to nothing but perfect getaway!
Simple things in life like having ground to recreate, a serene view and vitamin sea are something we need from time to time. Travel is one form of detox that is good for our well being. For a healthier and happier you, make it a commitment to yourself to do something like this for this new year. It has done good to me that's why I want to share it to you. :)
