All the things I've loved so far:
Ticonderoga Club at Krog Street Market. Their cocktails are great; I loved the Whiskey-based Sea-Way. There's an $86 steak on the menu, too, that I've heard is incredible. Some drunk guy got it while we were there and I doubt he fully enjoyed it, but such is life. If you order the steak (aptly named the Chuck Wagon), the bartenders ring a cowbell to let everyone know it's coming. I'd recommend getting it to share if you're not a huge meat-eater like me.
A meal/snack at Hop's Chicken (and pretty much everything else) at Ponce City Market. The chicken biscuit is very delicious and very affordable at $4. Breakfast at Buttermilk Kitchen. Drinks and good times at Earl's in East Atlanta. Cool bar/live music venue and, actually, the whole neighborhood felt familiar. Kind of like a part of Seattle.
Little Barn Apothecary (find gifts for yourself and maybe others - fragrances, candles, face mists - everything is organic), an iced latte and salted chocolate chip cookie at Brash Coffee, and all the other shops at the Westside Provisions District. (They have a Savannah Bee Company, too!) The Beltline: you can walk or (rent a) bike to get from Ponce City to Krog Street. I walked. There are a bunch of graffiti wall photo opps along the way.
A little Italian Market with delish paninis called Tuscany At Your Table.
Farmer's Markets - Peachtree Road on Wednesday evenings, Piedmont Park on Saturday mornings.
Free, outdoor yoga - There are a few classes, on different days of the week.
An indoor/outdoor bar-restaurant-cafe called 8arm that reminded me so much of New York and perhaps this is why it was my absolute favorite. Get a $19 carafe of house wine for two, and there's plenty of yummy stuff in case you get hungry (you will).
Oakland Cemetery - try to go when it's not so hot. Margaret Mitchell (Gone With the Wind) is buried there.
Oh, and King of Pops. How could I forget? The popsicle biz has stands all around town and a bar (yes, Poptails = popsicle cocktails) inside Ponce City Market. They've also got King of Pups for your fur-babies.

What I still haven't done/would like to check out next time I'm in ATL: SCAD Fash Museum, City Winery, the Porter Beer Bar in Little 5 Points, SIster Louisa's Church of the Living Room and Ping Pong, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Georgia Aquarium, King + Duke (Mark Twain-inspired restaurant/bar), High Museum and the Chattahoochee River.
Thinking of switching this up to a different format and I want your input. How do you feel about more pictures and fewer words? More frequent posts? The essentials, no mas? Is there a particular place you want to travel to but don't know much about? Let me know in the comments section. xo
