Baluchi Serves a Baisakhi Feast

An Indian festival hardly feels like one without a burst of colour, joy and of course, lots and lots of food! Bringing to life the spirit of Baisakhi, Baluchi has prepared a delectable feast for foodies across Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh and Bengaluru. Especially crafted by Chef Nandita Karan, Executive Chef of The LaLiT Chandigarh, this festive spread is a celebration of Indian cuisine and its diversity of flavours.

Chef Nandita has taken her love for food and innovation up a notch by collaborating with chefs from Baluchi kitchens across India, exploring flavours that embody the spirit of Baisakhi. Her love for food and cooking was developed at an early age from her grandmother’s kitchen and probably is the secret behind her flavoursome food. A graduate of Institute of Hotel Management, Patna, she has travelled across the world to learn and hone her culinary skills, and believes in using simple and fresh veggies.

The heart and hand in curating this Baisakhi food festival, her love for green vegetables, which according to Chef have their own identity, can be sampled in the menu. Herbs from our own gardens and spices grinded in the kitchens of The Lalit enhance the flavour of the dishes.

Baluchi is home to some of the most prolific culinary minds in the country. This festival is an opportunity to sample specially crafted signature recipes using local flavours and season’s specialties. Chef Nandita has a soft corner for simple, fresh vegetables and this reflects in her choice of greens and herbs in the Baisakhi menu. The recipes have been developed using herbs from our gardens, along with spices grinded in The LaLiT kitchens.

What makes this Baisakhi feast even more exciting is that it’s only the first of many such festive specials. Baluchi is gearing up to take you on a culinary journey across India, giving you a chance to explore old and new flavour palates. We believe that food has an unmatched power to bring people together and celebrate their common love for a hearty meal. With this in mind, the Baisakhi food fiesta marks the beginning of a string of national level culinary festivals, held across The LaLiT’s properties pan-India.

Our aim is to make the north fall in love with Chettinad delights and surprise the south with Mughlai curries.

Over the years, Baluchi has been recognised for serving authentic Pan-Indian delights, cooked with fresh, organic ingredients, adding a distinctive flavour to the food. The Baisakhi special feast commences on April 12, 2018 and goes on till April 22, 2018. It features an a la carte menu for lunch and dinner, curated using unique Indian recipes to celebrate local flavours and season’s specialties. The one-of-its-kind food fiesta is going to follow a uniform menu across all outlets. So save up an appetite and mark your calendars, because this is going to be a feast that’ll keep you dreaming for days.
