You may know Pasig City to be the home of Kapitolyo, a popular dining district of international flavors among foodies. What many don't know is that just a 20 to 30-minute drive away is a community at the city proper where homegrown dining institutions can also be found. One of them is the local favorite Buffalo Swing Cafe (BSC), a neighborhood-style restaurant that's located along Dr. Sixto Avenue in Caniogan, just past the Riverfront Residences if you're coming from the direction of Rizal High School. BSC, for some bizarre reason (at least for those who have not tried it yet), still stands today near the congested city center unchallenged not even by fast food chain quality food. The community palate seems to still gravitate towards home-cooked and uniquely crafted dishes, all of which BSC offers.

1. Unique Chicken and Pasta Flavors

For the longest time, its Butter Parmesan-flavored wings took the spotlight among diners. When the crowd-favorite Spicy Salted Eggs Wings became available, it became the star. For some, a great alternative to the two is the oriental-tasting Honey Soy Wings which brings any local foodie kitchen memories of home-cooked meals. The nearest Starbucks is way up in Oranbo and there's a so-so cafe serving forgettable cake and coffee in Kapasigan, so the best spot to have a cuppa or a sweet order of anything is in Caniogan where the restaurant is.

You'll be surprised to know that BSC serves Hot Vietnamese Coffee for the well-traveled coffee aficionado and French Press Coffee for those who have the affinity for the classic.

If you're into something sweet, it also has Hot Milk Chocolate. At BSC, chocolate callets are served in a heat-resistant glass where you can pour the accompanying hot milk for an indulgent, rich, creamy experience. That way, one can have a real chocolate drink. The result: superiority in taste as well as a thicker and richer texture.
