Last Night of The Proms

Each and every night throughout the summer, the Royal Albert Hall and several other venues close to our Earls Court Road hotel have played host to a veritable who’s who of world renowned musicians as part of the 2017 BBC Proms.
This coming Saturday, September 9th, all that comes to an epic climax at the highly anticipated Last Night of the Proms.
This year, Finland’s Sakari Oramo conducts the BBC Symphony Orchestra perform a rousing finale which the Royal Albert Hall promises will bring together many of the themes of this year’s concert series.
That includes music to mark the 50th anniversary of the deaths of composer Zoltán Kodály and long-time Proms conductor, Malcolm Sargent, as well as the long-awaited London premiere of John Adams’ Lola Montez Does the Spider Dance.

Held in celebration of legendary composer John Williams’ 85th birthday, the event will see the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra performing many of his most famous film scores, including Superman and everyone’s favourite 80s classic, E.T.
The orchestra will also perform scores from other big screen blockbusters, including Dances With Wolves and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Later…With Jools Holland 25th Anniversary Celebration

For one night only, renowned musician and band leader Jools Holland brings his hit BBC show, Later… live to the Royal Albert Hall stage.
A very special event to commemorate 25 years and 50 series of the BBC Two show, Later… With Jools Holland 25 will see the multi-talented performer welcome a wealth of special guests, from established legends to up ‘n’ coming artists and everyone in between, all from a broad cross section of musical genres.

Backed by his full electric band, high profile singer/songwriter returns to the Royal Albert Hall to perform tracks from his recent album, Prisoner.
Acclaimed as one of his finest releases in years, Prisoner features recent hits like Do You Still Love Me, which Adams is set to perform alongside classics from his illustrious back catalogue.
Support comes from songstress Karen Elson.
World Premiere: Casino Royale in Concert

Regular guests at our Earls Court Road hotel may already be well familiar with the Royal Albert Hall’s long tradition of combining classic movies with music performed by world class orchestras.
In the past, the likes of Titanic, Harry Potter, and Jurassic Park have all been brought to life by London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
This time, it’s the turn of James Bond’s 2006 adventure, Casino Royale.
Based on the 1953 novel by Ian Fleming, this exclusive premiere will be the first time the film has been shown with a score performed by a live orchestra, as well as the first time any Bond score has ever officially been performed live in its entirety.
