Sightseeing At Battle Box, Singapore Sling And Marche Singapore

SIGHTSEEING HERE AND THERE..

The second day in Singapore was spent following the captain to one "battle."  We took Grab service and he dropped us at the Battle Box at Ford Canning.  The Battle Box is formerly known as Headquarters Malaya Operations Bunker, constructed under Ford Canning Hill, Singapore as an emergency, bomb-proof command centre during the Malayan Campaign and the Battle of Singapore during the 1920s.  He loves going to these war history places and museums and we, the ladies, just followed the leader....

Tickets to go underground was bought here...
They have time schedules for each guided tour...
Since we had an hour to spare before the next tour,
we "hiked" up Fort Canning grounds...
Must be quickly on the move... mozzies are aplenty there!
Keep moving the legs...
the Mozzies were at war with us!
We spent a couple of hours there...
Then we walked all the way to the CHIJMES...
It was formerly a Convent... and now turned to restaurants and bars...
So beautiful.. it reminded me of my former school Convent in Ipoh...
Next stop... Singapore Sling at the Raffles...
Cooling down with a Singapore Sling...
a "sack" of peanuts to go with the Sling...
Dinner at Marche at Suntec City...
Two sets of Mixed Platter.... Pork Knuckles, Grilled Chicken among others...
Desserts as usual to complete the meal....
And then it was the ladies' turn..
Shopping throughout the night...
And then walking back to the hotel just opposite the mall...
