Have you ever heard of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in the United States?

It is an amazing UNESCO World Heritage Site, a division of the larger Appalachian Mountain chain, and the largest protected areas in the eastern US. These ancient mountains are never the same. They are still constantly re-inventing themselves as wind, water, and erosion keep on changing things.

This place is heaven for adventurers and people looking to get in contact with nature and enjoy the stunning beauty of the unique scenery that every mountain has to offer.

The logical thing to do in the park is to go hiking but there are three other activities that you can enjoy.

Top 3 Activities to do in the Smoky Mountains National Park

1. Camping –There are many campsites within the park. There are a few different ways that you can camp here, frontcountry is available, backcountry, horse camps and even cabin rentals. So you will definitely find something that will make you feel comfortable.

There are certain rules for each type of camping available that you have to follow so make sure to get informed.

2. Fishing – If you love fishing the Smoky Mountains must definitely be on your list of places to visit. In it, you can find brook, brown, or rainbow trout swimming throughout the 700 plus miles of fishable streams in the park.

3. Wildlife Viewing – This is a must do activity that you have to do if you go to this park. I mean, there is a crazy variety of animal species in it, not looking at them and learning about how they live would be a pity.

There are over 1,500 black bears in the park grounds and over 17,000 other species have been recorded. So keep your eyes open and don’t make too much noise. You might be able to catch a few animals hiding among the trees.
