Those who know me know I am not a wild ride kind of person, especially with roller coasters! Oh sure, I have conquered the (3) biggies in Walt Disney World, but it wasn’t without a lot of nerves and screams! Yes, I am that person, that person who is screaming so loud you can’t hear anything!
On our last trip, I made the long trek to Expedition Everest. While I am not a fan of the backward fall especially in the dark, I really do enjoy the queue leading up to actually getting in your train to the icy peaks of the Himalayas and meeting the mighty Yeti, a mythical abominable snowman! Your adventure starts inside a Tibetan type store at the foot of Mt. Everest. The general store is full of must haves for the long trek you are about to make. I have never been to Tibet or Mt. Everest, but I would say the Disney Imagineers nailed this queue! To me it is so authentic, I really forget I am in central Florida!
After leaving the general store stocked with your supplies for the next month long adventure, you enter the museum dedicated the mythical Yeti! Be sure and check out the damage he has done to a variety of things and the images portrayed by those who ventured into the Himalayas before you.
Do you dare board the train to Mt. Everest? Be prepared for the ride of your life into the Himalayas – just hope you don’t run out of track, it’s an 80 foot drop the bottom!
