Disney World Dining: Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

As you enter Magic Kingdom, on the right side of Town Square is Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.  Inspired by the charming Italian trattoria where Lady and the Tramp share spaghetti and a kiss in the Disney classic animated film, Lady and the Tramp, this quaint Italian restaurant puts you in the middle of our favorite scene from the movie with Tony fixing some wonderful Italian cuisine. I have seen so many people walk past Tony’s as they gravitate toward the center of town square heading down Main Street and Cinderellas Castle….but give this a try!

I loved the checkerboard table cloths and true to Disney theming, this restaurant has real Italian ambiance. The front wall is all glass that provides a great view across Main Street U.S.A.

Entrees for dinner range from $15 to $40 per person with a wide variety of Italian dishes that include Fish of the Day, Seafood Diavolo, Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Chicken Parmigiana, Mushroom Tortellini, Braised Lamb Shank and familiar dishes like Spaghetti with meatballs or Sweet Italian Sausage in Tony’s own Marinara sauce, Tony’s Lasagna and Shrimp Scampi. For lunch, the menu has more salads, flat-breads, calzones and meatball sliders. Pricing is slightly less expensive ranging from $12 top $16 for adult entrée’s.

Similar to other restaurants in Magic Kingdom Tony’s does not serve any alcohol beverages. (Although this policy is has changed at Be Our Guest in New Fantasyland.) Tony’s does offer a selection of soft drinks, iced tea, coffee, cappuccino, espresso and bottled water.

This quaint restaurant is very family friendly and has a child’s menu. The children’s menu also has a grilled fish of the day or Steal Skewer Spiedini. Children can choose an appetizer, entrée, a beverage and dessert for under $9.00.

It has been several years since I last visited – only because we don’t allow much time for sit down restaurants, but I remember the more than hearty servings and the great spaghetti I had. To finish off a great meal, be sure to make room for the tempting Tiramisu, Crème Brulee or the Spumoni.

Have you tried Tony’s Restaurant in the past? What was your favorite meal?
