But, there are many variables that can impact the bottom line of a woman’s paycheck. In some circumstances, women struggle with salary negotiation. Whether stemming from inside or outside the office, chronic anxiety takes a toll on your happiness, your energy level, and your productivity. However, there are a number of strategies that may help control or ease work-related stress and anxiety.

Workplace Bullying

One of the greatest triggers for stress and anxiety is workplace bullying, and unfortunately, woman-on-woman harassment is on the rise. So, why are we picking on each other? According to new research, one of the major reasons we don’t see women being promoted is because women at higher levels do not help other women get ahead. Women at the top experience something called “value threat” which causes them to not want to help other women. Though this may be disappointing (or all too familiar) to read, there is one clear solution that could help address this issue and make a real impact: cross-mentorship. There is a great need for younger professional women to learn from their elders, and for more senior professional women to leave a legacy and pave the way for future generations to succeed.
