Clothing

Swimsuit cover-ups will be useful when you need to step out of the water and since it’s a tropical country, pack casual clothing made from cotton or linen. Because this is a Muslim country, it has a conservative culture, so when not at your resort and on local islands, wear attire that covers bare legs and shoulders.
Sun Protection
You are likely going to be spending plenty of time basking in the glorious sunshine on a getaway at some of the best Maldives all-inclusive resorts. With that in mind, ensure to bring lots of sunscreen that’s at least SPF 30 and offers protection from both UVA and UVB rays. Look to use a product that’s reef-safe too so the precious marine ecosystem will not be damaged when you are in the water. While an Underwater Camera is not an essential item per se, once you go diving or snorkelling in Maldives and encounter the stunning array of marine life, you will wish you had brought one along! Alternatively, you can bring a waterproof GoPro camera and in case you don’t want to buy one, check for places that offer rental options that you can take with you on a holiday.
Alternatively, consider getting a waterproof phone case / pouch to safely take your phone in the water and capture some pictures at certain shallow depths; ensure the case is touch sensitive so you can operate your phone when it’s placed inside.
Other Essentials
The Maldives uses UK-style three-pin sockets (220V to 240V, 50Hz AC) and it’s worth bringing a universal plug adapter to charge all your electronics. Having a dry bag to keep your valuables safe near the water and a beach bag when at the shore will come in handy. Also, pack a mini first aid kit with basic medicines; if you are taking any prescription medication, ensure you have enough to cover your stay since pharmacies may not always be accessible.
