Planning your first-ever Visit to the beautiful Island Nation of the Maldives? Here is a quick yet informative guide to help you through it with ease!

01.   Best time to visit the Maldives

The Maldives is a delightful tropical island nation that attracts many visitors in search of endless offerings of sun, sea and sand. The best time to visit for an idyllic getaway is anywhere between the months of November to March. While the rainy season falls between May to October. Many a Maldives resort including the likes of Huvafen Fushi Maldives offer great deals during both these seasons.

02.   What to pack

Given that the Maldives is usually hot, humid and sunny for the majority of the time, it’s highly recommended that you pack plenty of light-coloured cotton clothing along with lots of bathing suits, wide-brimmed hats and flip-flops.

03.   Consider adequate sun protection

It’s important to remember that the sun’s rays especially during the middle of the day can be extremely harsh and easily tire one out. Remember to stay well hydrated, and wear plenty of sunscreen along with head protection to stay well protected from the tropical sun.

04.   Currency in the Maldives

The local currency used in the Maldives is the Maldivian Rufiyaa. However, the usage of USD is widely accepted everywhere across the archipelago. Getting both the local currency along with the US dollars at the Velana International Airport is recommended.

05.   What to eat

One will get the chance to enjoy both local and international cuisines during your time there. Pork is not served here while buying or bringing alcohol into the country is prohibited. However, alcohol is served without issue on resort islands.
