A luxurious trip to the Maldives

The Maldives is a wonderful vacation destination with so many beautiful places to see. Staying at a luxury resort located on a private island might be an amazing experience but it can be very expensive. Here’s how to plan a budget-friendly trip to the Maldives that’s just as magical.

Independent and budget travel

The government modified its rules ten years ago to permit guesthouses to open on the nearby islands. Tourists were now permitted to stay with locals and experience Maldivian culture. Many travellers are still unaware of this option. It’s much more cost-effective than staying at a luxury resort in Maldives.

Find cheap accommodation

The first thing to keep in mind is that there aren’t any incredibly affordable accommodations. You may get a tidy, contemporary, and roomy accommodation with air conditioning, free breakfasts, snorkelling equipment, a bottle of water each day, and Wi-Fi for $30 to $60 per night. If you want one day or night of total luxury you can try a popular surf resort in Maldives such as the famous Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives as they have great offers.

Find cheap transport

Transport is also inexpensive. Although they operate on a somewhat irregular schedule, local ferries shouldn’t set you back more than $2–4 for a three-hour trip. Due to the fact that local boats do not stop at the resort islands, if you wish to visit a resort, you will need to pay for a speedboat. If you’re on a tight budget, stay away from the seaplanes because they often cost $500 roundtrip for a 20-minute trip.

Find cheap food

Food costs $5 to $10 per dinner, however, the majority of guesthouses provide a substantial complimentary breakfast. There are fewer dining alternatives on smaller islands, so you’ll probably be eating at your guesthouse for the majority of your meals.
