What’s so special about Byron Bay? It’s the Byron vibe as the locals like to call it. Epic surf breaks at dawn, chilling afternoons and breathtaking sunsets...
But the nights at Byron Bay are even more magical. Follow our Bar Guide to get an amazing evening! We start our afternoon quite early at 3 pm at Cheeky Monkeys.
First stop at 3 pm: Cheeky Monkey’s - 115 Jonson Street
This is a must stop for every backpacker. They have great value home-style meals, hot bartenders and definitely a party atmosphere.
Woody’s surf shack 4-5pm - The Plaza, 9-10/90-96 Jonson St
Next, we head a bit further on the street to Woody’s surf shack! They have amazing cocktails.
The Great Northern 5-6pm- 35 - 43 Jonson Street
“ Heritage features and an old school traditional charm give a relaxed feel during the day, while at night the region's best blues, rock and folk performers grace the stage.”
This bar is our third stop. Here you can find amazing live music that goes great with a nice cold beer. The interior decoration is very cool as well, definitely worth checking it out.
The Sticky Wicket bar 6-7 pm - 32 Jonson St
If you arrive here at 6 pm, you’re just in time for some 1$ chicken wings they serve during happy hour from 5 to 7 pm. The scooners are 5 dollars during happy hour, and they have 12 taps with different kinds of international beers. If you’re a big sports fan you can enjoy watching your favorite live game on one of the 13 screens.
There is live music from Wednesday to Saturday downstairs and a DJ on Friday and Saturday upstairs.
La La Land 7-8 pm - 6 Lawson St Byron Bay
This bar is also definitely worth checking it out. It has a unique interior design and is quite cozy.
The Beach hotel 8-9pm - 1 Bay Street
Great view from the outside, great party on the inside. They have different kinds of music and DJ’s every day from reggae to 70’s music.
