Not to sound like a total scrooge… But this time of year simply is not my most favorite. For many reasons. For example:

• People who are normally very nice turn into grumpy impatient people.

• Every kind of line is long.

• Bad drivers seem to pop up out of nowhere.

• Excessive EVERYTHING.

And the worst part, is the cold. I HATE THE COLD. I’m a summer person. I grew up on a beach. That is where my heart belongs. Not in this below 20’s, windy icebox.

But I will say… I don’t hate winter clothes.

I don’t buy new coats every year, but this year I bit the bullet and snagged this JCREW cocoon Coat after Thanksgiving. I’ve been obsessing over camel coats since seeing one in their catalogue recently and had to have it. When it went on sale, I made my move.

You all know what a sucker I am for estate sales. I go every weekend. Rain or shine. Cold or hot. I’m there. Gotta get the good deals! And my Lulu Lemon hoodie just wasn’t warm enough. I needed something to cover my legs too. I have a gorgeous white one in a similar shape. But estate saleing in white is no bueno. Camel makes the cut though for sure.

Plus you can’t see if makeup rubs off around the collar. Which is AMAZING because that is the story of my life. So for that reason alone, this coat is now what I’d consider a closet staple for winter.
