Mwangi Hutter, From the Other Side of Daylight

Mwangi Hutter, From the Other Side of Daylight, will be having a second solo show at Galerie Burster Karlsruhe from April 13th to May 18th.

“Fingerprint after fingerprint, we leave our trace as the symbol of our inner map. Following it through should lead to the essence one day. If we could tell our story without words, sounds or images we would, but that is impossible for now. Indeed, we don’t know our story yet. We are drawing it out in painting, revealing it in video and sound, making a photo of it to render it visible. We have an inkling of what it might be about, but without having embarked on this journey, we would never have begun to find out what there is to know.“

– Mwangi Hutter

Mwangi Hutter lives in Ludwigshafen, Berlin, and Nairobi. Their work is being shown currently until April 14 at an extensive solo show at Kunstverein Ludwigshafen and was on view at the Kenyan Pavillon (curated by Simon Njami) of the 57. There work has also been shown at the Venice Biennale as well as Documenta 14 in Kassel and Athens.
