At first glance the “Libyan Battle Trucks” photo series by James Mollison seem staged or faked, like something out of a comic book. Astonishingly they’re all authentic. The brave photographer traveled to the heart of the recent Libyan liberation to create his new series ‘Libyan Battle Trucks’ a present-day look at the war machines used by rebels in their pursuit of freedom. The results are truly amazing, yet terrifying.
Mollison’s photographs capture civilian-owned trucks equipped and loaded up with all kinds of advanced Soviet weaponry. A little Mad Max at times and unquestionably deadly in the wrong hands. The majority of the “Libyan Battle Trucks” look like something you would expect to see in a Mad Max film. I for one would not enjoy running into these guys on an afternoon beer run.
