Below you’ll find a list of the top 100 most used fonts from the Fonts.com Web Fonts service during February. While the usual suspects, like the Trade Gothic®, Avenir® and Neue Helvetica® typefaces are at the top of the list, if you look a little past half-way, you’ll come across a pretty atypical – and very likeable design: the Itc American Typewriter™ family.

The design is a happy melding of its office forerunner and time-proven characteristics that ensure high levels of legibility. The design does away with the typewriter’s rigid spacing (which assigns the same amount of space to a lowercase “i” as it does to a capital “W”). And while the letterforms of ITC American Typewriter are clearly influenced by a typewriter font, they are far more legible and ultimately more readable than any standard typewriter output. What’s not to like?
