Happy New Year, friends! How was everyone's holiday break? Mine was super chill and filled with family, friends and yummy food— standard stuff. The best part by far, however, was unplugging while I was in Victoria, which really helped me see the importance of being present and living in the moment. It's something I typically struggle with, but after being freshly on the flip side of it, I can see what a difference putting my phone away makes to my general happiness. Hopefully I'll carry that newfound wisdom into 2018, but who knows... the allure of social media is palpable, after all.
In the spirit of easing into things, I thought I would share a light post today of some of my favourite outfits from my Christmas break. The weather in Victoria was much warmer than what I left behind in Edmonton, but the humidity and wind made for some chilly days— it even snowed on Christmas Eve, which is a rare treat for that part of the country! But unlike Edmonton, the snow in Victoria knows not to overstay its welcome, and politely melted away the next day... now that's my idea of winter!

One thing I will say is that in an attempt to travel light and have enough room for toting all my family's holiday gifts, I definitely underpacked for my 10-day visit. I think by day three I started having major regrets, and quickly resorted to raiding my mom's closet and hitting up a store or two (shout out to UpTown!). If I ever offer you any tips on packing a suitcase, please disregard them because clearly I know nothing.
