How To Prepare Your Home For Autumn

Tags: fall cozy bring

With the leaves slowly falling off the trees and that crisp chilly wind coming through, we are just about fully into the Fall season. By now you've probably packed away your summer clothes, started drinking hot chocolate again, and have to wear socks around the house! We know you are ready, but have you thought about getting your house ready for fall? Here are some tips on how you can get cozy at home in the colder temperatures.

1. Freshen up your rugs

The new season is a great time to do the maintenance work that keeps your rugs long-lasting. Lift up your rug, switch it around to prevent any stress points caused from furniture, and of course, give your rug a good vacuum. This is also a great time to change up your furniture; even moving an armchair or a coffee table to a different position can breathe new life into your home. It's the little things that can make a big difference!

2. Fall florals

Florals are not only for spring. Adding a fresh bouquet to your place can Bring fall into your home. Look for local and seasonal flowers like dahlias, amaranthus, or ranunculus, and for a rustic feel try branches from trees or shrubs with berries or leaves.

To match your bouquets, try a vintage Persian rug in a rich mustard floral pattern, like our new arrival The Highline #292.

2. Bring out the blankets

One easy way to get cozy at home: layers on layers of blankets! Woven cotton throws are great all year round, but if you want to get extra warm piling on a wool throw will without a doubt keep you warm throughout winter. Stay tuned for our new fall throws and cushion cover collection coming soon.

3. Transition with textures

Discovering a range of textures will liven up your home while also giving it a cozy feel. Try corduroy, velvet, cable knit, or hemp for a cozy autumnal look. Fall colours such as mustard, burgundy, amber, and cream can also bring the outside palette in, and can add a very soothing warmth to your home.
