The Microsoft Windows 365 Cloud PC – Accessible everywhere and immediately

In the first step, there was Office 365, a service that enabled work in the Cloud. With its operating system Microsoft Windows 365, the developer from America has gone one step further. Now there is an operating system from the cloud for companies, but of course also for private users. How this works and what advantages this service has over other solutions will be explained in the next few paragraphs.

How companies benefit from the “new” Windows Cloud

In the past, everything was quite simple: you got a Windows CD, installed the operating system and you had your PC set up. The problem, however, was and still is that this solution requires a PC to be available. With the new Windows Cloud PC, things are very, very different. Here, the user and his team directly access Windows servers on which an image of the system is already available. All that is needed is an end device that can be in the low range in terms of performance. For companies, this is above all a significant cost saving, because a large part of the IT infrastructure can be outsourced in this way with just one click and very efficiently. The popular Office 365 package is of course included here, and other services such as iCloud from Apple can also be used easily via the Windows server. This system is supposed to be the next step in cloud computing, and in the long run it may even replace Windows 10, and all its future successors. However, it currently still has a few teething problems that severely limit its use by business.

Microsoft System – Cloud Computing without Co-Working

One of the biggest weaknesses of Microsoft Windows 365 is that it is possible to run a workstation directly from the Windows server. However, it is not possible for two PCs to work together. Setting up a network with the help of Microsoft Windows 365 requires a little more flair, as well as a specialist for Azure. With the help of the Azure Stack, a virtual working environment can be set up in which different PCs can work on a file with each other. This is not possible without Azure. The type of file does not matter. It can be a normal Office 365 file or a file from another programme. The popular Microsoft Exchange service can also only be used to a limited extent without Azure. This is currently a major shortcoming, and it has to be said: with Windows 10, setting up a network is much easier and less complicated. Consequently, to set up a functioning network, you either need an external expert for Azure, or a service provider for these very services.

Another disadvantage: Microsoft does not operate a German cloud

Data protection is particularly important for German entrepreneurs. Here, too, there are problems with the new Windows 365, as well as with Office 365 and other cloud services from Microsoft. It is an American company that has a large part of its servers in the USA. That’s true of other services like Apple’s OneDrive, or iCloud. But since Windows 365 is an operating system and not an additional service, this fact weighs a little heavier. If you want to replace your current Windows 10 and automatically take data protection into account, you should opt for a German cloud. Providers for this not only enable the use of Office 365, but can also integrate Azure and every conceivable app into the prefabricated installation.
