Budget Printable Series – Debt Tracker

We’re kicking off a limited-time free Budget Printable Series that will help you gain control of your finances, develop goals and actually reach them. Each week we will share one printable, so be sure to check back soon!

Now that we’re already into February, how are those New Year’s Resolutions going? If your answer is, “not too good,” then you’re not alone, and you shouldn’t feel bad. Many make resolutions without developing obtainable goals and a sustainable plan. One common resolution is to “do better with money” or “save money.” While that’s a great resolution, it’s very broad, and without definitive and measurable goals, you’re bound to fail.

Let’s look at February as a chance to re-do those resolutions and forget about any failures or shortcomings. You know when the best time for change is? Now! Luckily you don’t need another January 1st to try again. You can plan to make positive changes in your life at any time during the year, and why not start over with those ambitious money plans this month? We’re here to help you get on the right track with a series of budget printables.

A crucial part of being successful with money, following a budget and paying down Debt is organization and tracking. Just like a road trip, if you don’ know where you are starting, where your destination is, and the directions and sign along the way, you will never get there – you’ll get lost.

Simply telling yourself you’re going to do better with money without being organized and having a plan is like going on that road trip blindly and not even having a gas gauge to warn you when you’re about to come to a dead stop!

This week we are starting off with a Debt Tracker printable. While it’s certainly not fun to face the reality of debt, it’s necessary if you want to get out of debt. Even if you’re behind on payments or don’t think you have enough money to pay your monthly minimum payments, you still need to gather and organize everything you owe. You must know where you stand today, what’s due, who it’s due to and what interest rate each lender is charging.

Print and fill out this debt tracker printable for each creditor so that you have all of the crucial information that you need for each debt owed all together. Once you fill out the necessary information, you can use the sheet throughout the year to track your payments made and the remaining balance each month.

Visually, it helps us to be able to see our progress throughout the entire year. It helps motivate us to see that balance consistently go down. We recommend getting a nice binder to start placing all of your budget information. This is the method that we used to take control of our finances and become debt free!

We hope you find these printables useful. And be sure to check back for new printables.

To print the debt tracker, click on the image below. Once the image comes up, be sure to click on the download icon in the upper right corner to download the printable to your computer before printing. This way the Google Drive URL does not print on the printable.
