ADE is an Event: ADE means Amsterdam Dance Event, It’s not a Classic Trade fair with hall, stands but there is a Ticket and there is a card.
During these last days, I got ton of email/message from Dj/producers asking me the same thing “How does ADE work”?
Ade will take place next October from 19 till 24 in Amsterdam. It’s one of the most important event for Dance Music Industry. A lot of people go Ade for having fun and other for making business.
ADE CARD offers the owner the opportunity to get into the playground and having a series of discounts on activities related to Dance, like graphic exhibitions located in the city of Amsterdam.
The ADE TICKET offers the owner the opportunity to participate at the Conference at Felix Meritis, you can enter the Dylan hotel close to Felix and provide access to all parties. The Ticket can be daily or weekly duration (Daily price 250 euro). I recommend 5 days ticket, it cost about 400 euro.
My advices for Dj/producer:
Most of the producer acts in three ways:
Buy the ticket and plan meeting with A&R
Note: bring with you a Press Kit: prepare a Usb including your bio, some picture and your productions. You don’t need Extended version cause A&R will only listen to some seconds.
( The most common Act)
Note: Even if you don’t have a ticket, you should go and wait outside but please bring a USB not a CD Waiting for hours outside felix handing a CD
HALF WAY ( Recommended)
Note: try to fix a meeting between 11 a.m. till 4 p.m.Even if you don’t have a ticket, there are social network ( like Linkedin) where you can find ton of contacts of A&R, Bookiing etc. Try to get in touch with them , they will receive you also outside felix.
Personal Consideration: I remember in 2014, I was out of Felix, I met Paul Oakenfold and nobody recognized him, this is bad! Cause for release music, there are not only the A & R, Wake Up! This world is not for Shy person, try to find your space and opportunity will comes but no one comes knocking on your door unless you first built the door! .. And then during the ADE have fun, go to parties and don’t afraid to ask!
