How To Cope With Rejection

We have all been to many auditions that we never heard back from or were simply Rejected with no explanation.

In these moments, we feel worthless, we all do. As an aspiring Actor one is constantly put to a test. Test of will, of knowledge and many more tests of our abilities. What is crucial is to think outside the actor view. Many times when you got rejected it had nothing to do with your skills and your various acting instruments. It was as simple as this: You were not what the Director pictured as his vision of the role. That is it. You did good, you did great, but in our line of work it is also about physical appearance, not critical for your career but for some roles it is. Depending on the directors vision of the play, and his idea, you might have been rejected for no apparent reason.

What can you do about it?

It is not on  you to change your appearance, but, you can look through the play, see if you are fit for the role. It doesn’t end there though, you should keep track of the work director and cast director did previously and see if you can relate to any of their work, to see if it fits your capabilities and your skillset.

And of course, no worries, talent always finds a way, so will you lead by your talent. Just make sure to grow, every day, as an actor, as a human being, just grow, because the more you grow the better chances you have for being accepted for that dream role.
