Full Review:
It’s fall, so you know you’re going to see Pumpkin and Pumpkin Spice creep it’s way into as many Trader Joe’s items as possible. Seems every year, we’re seeing bold new intrusions (Pumpkin Bagels?) – some are hits, and some are misses.
We’re happy to say that these Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps were a nice treat – so long as you pair them right.
We initially tried them for dipping hummus, and we adorned them with sliced cheddar cheese – and we weren’t impressed. The cinnamon-nutmeg-pumpkin flavor combo seemed overpowering, and didn’t compliment well.
Then we tried them with soft brie, and had a better experience – the subtle flavors of the cheese seemed to mix well with the Crisps. Of course, these crackers are also good on their own (close your eyes, and you might think you’re eating a cookie).
Texture-wise, these Crisps are a bit softer, and more crumbly than some of the other Crisp varieties we’ve tried from TJ’s. We ultimately saw that as a positive – they have a nice crunch, but also a slight chewiness.
Overall, we liked these Crisps. They are not our favorite Crisp variety, but they were certainly a tasty and festive treat to celebrate the season.
