How well do you know your period?

I believe all women should track their Period. It is an important part of our health and is often one of the first things to go awry when something is up.
There are 3 main stages to a period:
from day 1 of no bleeding through day 14 -21 (this different for all women)estrogen slowly rises in preparation for Ovulation. This also signals to the uterine lining to start thickening in order to prepare for a babyfollicles start developingfollicle stimulating hormone (FSH) begin to riseduring this time your cervical mucus may be thick an creamy
2. Ovulation
Luteinising hormone surges along with FSH and estrogen to release the mature follicle AKA the egg.cervical mucus will be a stretchy egg white consistency (this is a key sign that you have ovulated). This is due to increased estrogen.during this time you may experience an increase in libido and mood due to estrodial's relationships with serotonin and dopamine.from ovulation there are 2 options - you will either fall pregnant if you egg is fertilised by sperm OR you will get your period.to figure out your approximate ovulation day count back 14 days from the day of your next period. E.g if you are due to get your period on March 21st count back 14 days to the 7th of March.
3. Luteal Phase
after ovulation you will enter the luteal phase typically anywhere between 10 - 16 days after ovulation.your corpus luteum is formed from the left over follicle tissue from which your egg burst from. This is a temporary endocrine gland that is responsible for the production of progesterone.progesterone surges after ovulating balancing out estrogen. Increased progesterone reduces inflammation, boost mood and promotes calm feelings.
