Most cocktails have one thing in common? They are sweet. I do not have a sweet tooth but a cocktail I like. This cocktail is based on the Spanish Licor 43. One ultra sweet drink that mixed tastes great. You can drink this cocktail on a warm Summer night out in the garden but also in front a cozy fire. Licor 43 is a Spanish drink made with 43 ingredients. I can’t determine the ingredients but contains at least citrus and vanilla. The consistency is rather thick and almost syrup like.

How to make refreshing Licor 43 balón cocktail?

So how do we make this cocktail. It is ultra-easy to make and only requires 3 ingredients. You start with a large glass and add ice cubes to the rim. Then you need about 35 ml of Licor 43. This licor is really quite strong and just like with Tinto de Verano it needs a little pop in your glass.

That is why I poor the remainder of the glass with about 80 to 90 ml of sparkling water. I use San Pellegrino as it has a nice soft taste even if it is just sparkling water. For decoration purposes I add slices of lemon and slices of orange.

That is it! When you first add the Licor 43 to the glass and put the sparkling water on top of it you will have like a sunrise in you glass.
