Let me start by pre-empting your question. What about Convertkit? It seems all bloggers are using that these days. I cannot review Convertkit because I have not used it. The main reason is that there is no free plan with Converkit. You need to pay $29/month for the lowest plan. With that being said, I would definitely love to give it a go in the future when I am making good money consistently through blogging. For now, I am more than happy with MailerLite and here is why

Here is a price breakdown for all the email providers I mentioned. I have tried all the free email services that are provided for people with less than 1000 subscribers. So far MailerLite is my favorite. Also, as you can see, once I grow my list in the future, MailerLite will still be the best email provider in terms of pricing. ✅ Super Easy To Use

Very clear instruction in MailerLite. I found it way better than MailChimp. I remember the day I started with MailChimp, I was so confused as in where can I found my subscribers, there are so many options under each tab and I cannot find what I was looking for. I spent hours looking for tutorials to learn how to use MailChimp.

With MailerLite, I figured it all out in less than half an hour without any tutorials. Figuring out MailerLite felt like figuring out a new smart phone, it takes time but it is super easy.

Above is what the home page bar look like, very clear what you can do with it, right? Plus if you do feel a bit stuck, they have many tutorials that can walk you through the whole tool step by step.

✅ Automation Function

Its automation function is like a dream. When I was using MailChimp, automation was only available for paid customers, they only made it free in the last few months. That was also one of the main reason I did my switch a few month back.

I did a screenshot below from the MailerLite automation workflow page. I want to show you how easy it is to do automation in MailerLite. With a few clicks, you can send, for example, a 7 days mini course on how to start a blog when someone opt-in through one of your forms. You can use ‘delay’ function to send the one part of the course every single day over the 7 days period.

Say someone opened all emails and but did not click on any links on the email, you can use the ‘condition’ function to automatically send a follow up email asking them if they are happy with the content of the email, if now, what do they want to learn from the mini course. If someone opened all emails and clicked on the links in the email, you can use a combination of ‘condition’ function and ‘action’ function to move them to a new list say ‘very active users’.
