Pink Cadillac Margarita

Step up your margarita game with this Pink Cadillac Margarita with a Hibiscus Salt Rim.

My friends at JoyJolt sent me these stemless martini glasses as a gift! This post contains my Amazon affiliated links for products shown.

Let’s break down this Pink Cadillac Margarita recipe from top to bottom!

First: Glassware

After a couple of these cocktails, you will be thankful they are stemless.

Afina Stemless Martini Glasses

  • Easy to hold
  • Durable
  • Shatterproof
  • Heavy base for stability.
  • And they look awesome!

Tequila

What makes a great cocktail is great ingredients. Spend the extra few bucks and buy top shelf.

Tequila has such a unique flavor and every brand tastes different.

Try a few brands to find your favorite.

Salt

The days of plain boring white kosher salt are gone with the wind. Gourmet salt and spices is a creative culinary dream of endless possibilities.

For the Pink Cadillac Margarita, I used this gorgeous hibiscus salt that is rich in color and texture to compliment the cocktail.

How to get the Salt to Stick to a Glass

  • Rim your glass with a lime wedge by pressing down gently with enough pressure to release the juice from the lime wedge.
  • Fill a shallow bowl with salt. Turn your glass upside down or roll one side of the glass in the salt.
  • The salt will stick to the lime juice on the glass.

Sweet & Sour Mix

I used premade sweet & sour mix. A bottle will run you around $5 and you can find it in the mixer section of any liquor/grocery store.

However, if you want to make your own try this recipe

Cranberry Juice

Any brand cranberry juice will work! You can add more cranberry juice than the recipe calls for to make the cocktail more pink in color.

Triple Sec/ Orange Liqueur

Triple Sec is an orange liqueur that is essentially vodka sweetened and infused with orange peels. You can swap out the Triple Sec for Grand Marnier or Cointreau.

Lime Wedges

I love having extra lime wedges for my margaritas. I squeeze the lime wedge over my margarita and the juice floats on top. It is an extra flavor zing.

Ice

I have two types of ice in my freezer.

  1. The ice from my ice maker.
  2. A bag of ice from Chick-fil-A or Sonic fast food restaurants. Both restaurants sell bags of there soft nugget ice even if it is not on the menu. Just ask!

Do not use nugget ice in a cocktail shaker. Use regular ice. The ice in your shaker is not the ice going into the margarita. When you shake your cocktail shaker the ice inside gets broken up. You will end up with watered down cocktail slush if you use the nugget ice.
