Whole 30 2: Day 13

I remember feeling a lot more boredom with Food during my last Whole 30, but this time I am so busy I don’t have time to think about being bored with food. Food is a utility, it’s a means to fill the void in my stomach and keep me moving forward. I hate to be so simplistic about it since I love to cook so much, but right now, that’s what I’m feeling.

I had the same simple breakfast as the day before yesterday: eggs, sweet potatoes, avocado. This is a filling meal! I’ve noticed my desire to snack has greatly declined. I might have a few almonds in the afternoon, but mid-morning I don’t feel the urge. Evening hours are totally different. I want chocolate so badly!

Lunch was so good! I have figured out the perfect way to make Spaghetti squash: roast it whole (400 degrees F) so you don’t stab yourself trying to split it open when it’s raw and hard, and then when it is knife tender, split it, scoop the seeds, then roast it cut-side up 5-15 minutes more until it just starts to shred. If you overcook spaghetti squash, it gets watery and mushy and gross.

I managed to find some sugar-free, crappy oil-free marinara (I think it was Classico-brand), and made some meat sauce with turkey. Amazeballs—didn’t even miss the Parmesan!

I was craving hot wings so I made a hot wing salad for dinner with leftover cooked chicken thighs, veggies, hot sauce, and homemade ranch (was missing my blue cheese here!). This was a killer dinner!
